Dear ATS Viewers, This is my all orginal, low hour, 1972, Oliver 1555 with New Idea loader ready for the Minnesota winter. I know it not an antique but I wanted to share it with your readers as it is a beauty. It has never been out overnite since about 1980 and has been washed and waxed at least once a year since then. I became the proud owner of it in April 2005. This tractor was one of many ordered by a dealer in SD set up as a "loader special", with a straight 6 speed and no three-point. At that time, a lot of loaders were being put on higher horsepower tractors and this was an inexpensive way to get a new tractor over 50 hp to push snow , load manure and move bales out on the praire. If anyone else out there has one of these "loader specials" please contact me. I am hoping to find a 3-16's or 3-14's hydraulic lift plow to plow our melon patch next spring. You can see our water and muskmelon patch behind the 1555 picture with the loader raised. If anyone has a plow for sale please contact us at AntiqueTractorSource.com. Sincerely, Bryan Ebbenga bebbenga@yahoo.com 2006 Orange Spectacular by Bryan Ebbenga The Upper Midwest AC Club did another fine job of putting on the 15th Annual Orange Spectacular, 3 miles west of Hutchinson, Minnesota on Hwy 7, held July 22-23, 2006. They featured AC Industrial tractors and had some unique ones, including a D-19 Beachcomber and several different tractors and crawlers. They also held plowing for D Series tractors, the mighty D-21 to the diminutive D-10. I was in the Swap Meet area selling AC and Simplicity garden tractors and equipment. It was hot, but a pretty good crowd. ALso saw a neat 1/4 scale XT 190 built by Merlin Swanson, of Amery, WI. They had great selections of tractors, memorabilia, and parts for sale. I found a nice 3x5 logo flag, and will be selling one sided and two sided versions in the AntiqueTractorSupply.com. We have had many requests for AC flags for use in parades, shows, and at home, and now have a quality one for purchase. I can't wait for next years' show, and I miss my AC friend Roger Keller of Galion, Ohio who passed away from cancer this spring. We met at the Hutchinson show in 1997 and had many great AC times together. Pictures are located in our photobucket, please click HERE to see. |
